Beach Guide in The Lower Florida Keys
The Best beach in The Lower Keys and in the entire island chain is located in Bahia Honda State Park on Mile Marker 36. It was named Best Beach in America in 1992. The park has 3 main beaches, Caloosa beach located on the bay with gentle waves perfect for relaxing and swimming.
Loggerhead beach is located on the east side across from the concession stand, shallow and crystal waters make this beach perfect for children and families, there is good snorkel spots a few feet from the shore and kayakers enjoy the popular ride to the small island offshore.
Sandspur beach is locate don the north side of the island and is the favorite beach for locals that enjoy a Sunday afternoon BBQ on the many grills placed trough the picnic pavilions
