7/26/2008 Rare Coral Reef Book Collection To Be Displayed
Join Dr. Jim Porter for a special viewing of early editions of over 500 years of publishing on corals and coral reefs. Display is 4pm - 8pm at the Reef Relief Environmental Center, 631 Greene Street in Key West.
7/27/2008 Second Annual Lobster Rodeo & Dive Safety Expo
Free expo enhances sport diving and boating safety, combining scuba skills stations with mini-safety briefings. To participate in the event's scuba activities, attendees must bring their scuba certification card and their own gear.
7/27/2008 - 7/28/2008 Islamorada Fishing Club RedGhost Stalk
Anglers ages 11 through 25 are to compete to catch redfish and bonefish, the ghost of the flats. Winners qualify for the International Game Fish Association Inshore Championship.
8/1/2008 - 8/9/2008 Key Largo Food & Wine Festival
Set on an island known for its bountiful tropical fruit, fresh snapper, tuna, mahi-mahi, shrimp and lobster, the nine-day festival incorporates 33 events, including gourmet wine dinners with cultural specialties, feasts and fiestas, palate-pleasing adventures and wines from around the world.

Key Largo is the perfect venue for advanced open water divers through "wreckaholics" who just can't get enough! Nine days of wreck diving plus a packed roster of topside activities.

Festivities include Friday's Lobsterfest Duval Crawl, Street Fair and FREE concert Saturday, and Sunday Lobster Brunch.
8/15/2008 - 8/18/2008 Islamorada Swordfish Tournament
Anglers are to compete to catch swordfish, a fish species that has recovered to healthy populations off the Keys. Modified release tournament benefiting the International Game Fish Association. Fish must be at least 60 inches long to qualify.

9/5/2008 - 9/7/2008 Mercury Redbone Celebrity S.L.A.M. (Southernmost Light-Tackle Anglers Masters) Celebrity Tournament
This the first of the annual fall Redbone Trilogy events that raise money to fight cystic fibrosis. Top anglers and celebrities are to target tarpon, permit and bonefish with light tackle.

Music, dancing, contests and auctions highlight the evening - music provided by ?Big Daddy? Joe Marcum, fish-fry dinner, join the fun at Key Largo Lion's Club. Proceeds benefit the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center.

Some of the best anglers in the world compete to catch the famously-large Islamorada bones.
9/18/2008 - 9/21/2008 36th Key West Poker Run
Motorcycle enthusiasts from around the U.S. are to travel the Keys' scenic Overseas Highway from mainland Florida to Key West to raise money for charity. Stops are arranged throughout the Keys with a final celebration in Key West.

The peak of the fall birding season, this event includes presentations,field trips focusing on education and conservation as they relate to Keys birds and wildlife, and an environmental fair.
10/3/2008 - 10/5/2008 Mercury Baybone Celebrity Tournament
This is the second of three catch-and-release tournaments that make up the annual Redbone Trilogy. Anglers are to target permit and bonefish to raise money for cystic fibrosis research.
10/10/2008 - 10/12/2008 Take Stock in Children Backcountry Challenge
Anglers are to fish for snook and redfish to benefit the statewide scholarship program.
10/12/2008 - 10/17/2008 Mercury Outboards Bonefishing World Championship/Islamorada All-Tackle Bonefish Tournament
Some of the best bonefish anglers are to compete to catch and release the ghost of the flats. Proceeds are to be donated to local charities.
10/17/2008 - 10/18/2008 Casting for Cats Women?s Backcountry Tournament
Ladies are to cast bait, artificials and flies to compete for nearly 20 trophies. The tournament is to benefit Caring for Cats, a non-profit that rescues, spays/neuters and cares for feral cats in the Upper Keys.
10/17/2008 - 10/26/2008 30th Annual Fantasy Fest
An outrageous, 10-day celebration featuring costume competitions, promenades, street fairs and a grand parade with marching groups and lavish floats. This year, Fantasy Fest takes aim at America?s upcoming presidential election with the theme ?Pirates, Pundits and Political Party Animals.?
